Comparison of Complete and Short Form of Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency Second Edition (BOT-2) in Patients after Treatment of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Patrmanová, Eliška ; Štveráková, Tereza (advisor) ; Křížová, Barbora (referee)
This diploma thesis is focused on the comparison and usability of the Short Form (SF) and the Complete Form (CF) of the test battery Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency, Second Edition (BOT-2) in individuals after the treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). In the theoretical part, an overview of findings related to ALL, assessment of motor development, and especially the BOT-2 test battery is given. The main goal of the practical part was to verify the comparability of results from the most commonly used forms of BOT-2 in patients after ALL treatment. Methodology: 37 participants aged 4-21 years (mean age 10.3 years; SD ±3.9) were included in the study. The level of motor proficiency was measured with the BOT-2 CF. Data for the SF was extracted from the CF and processed using Two-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) analysis, and correlation analysis. Results: Two-Way ANOVA results showed that post-ALL patients achieved a significantly (p < 0.001; Hays ω2 = 0.41) lower standard score in the SF (45.1 ±7.9) compared to the CF (49.1 ±9.4). Acceptable sensitivity (72.3 %) and high specificity (91.9 %) of the BOT- 2 SF were proven. Conclusion: The BOT-2 SF can be used to screen overall motor proficiency and classify an individual's result in the...

Pilná, Petra ; Musálek, Martin (advisor) ; Vojta, Zdeněk (referee)
Title: Somatotype and off-ice performance as predictors for long term hockey perspective in youth ice hockey players. Objectives: The aim of this thesis was to determine whether a player's somatotype and performance in selected off-ice tests predict a player's hockey perspective judged by coaches in youth hockey of the highest domestic competition. Methods: The thesis included 112 hockey players in highest youth league. The off-ice tests included 1. Illinois agility, 2. Illinois agility with a ball, 3. Five jump test, 4. Sit and Reach Flexibility Test, 5. Squat Jump, 6. Free Arm Countermovement Jump, 7. Pull ups, 8. 1500 m run. The somatotype was evaluated according to the method of Heath and Carter (1990). The analysis of variance with repetition was used to compare performances over time with respect to somatotype categorization. A paired T-test with a confidence level of 95 % (p < 0,05) was used to assess potential within-survey. Cohen's d was used for the paired T-test to estimate the clinical significance (effect size), with Cohen's d ≤ 0.3 determined as the clinically significant effect size. To estimate the degree of influence of the selected off-ice tests on game perspective was assesed by multiple regression analysis with significance p < 0,05 and adjusted R2. Results: The only significant...

Techlovský, Jiří ; Musálek, Martin (advisor) ; Rychtecký, Antonín (referee)
Title: The impact of elementary schools orientation on leisure time activities structure and physical fitness at child population, age 9- 14, in Litomerice town Objectives: The aim of the thesis was to determine, if different conceptual orientation of selected elementary schools (aesthetic-music- oriented, sports-oriented) has a significant influence on the structure of leisure time activities and the level of physical fitness of children aged 9-14 years. Methods: The study presents empirical quantitative research, which consists of sample of 202 students selected from two elementary schools in Litomerice town. Level of physical fitness was determined using standardized test battery UNIFITTEST (6-60) and the structure of leisure time activities were detected by sociological questionnaire COMPASS II. For the analysis of the data obtained we used descriptive statistical methods, t-test, analysis of variance ANOVA, chi-square test and coefficient of effect size Cohen d, z-test, Hays omega and effect size etha - η2 . Results: Significant impact of the different conceptual orientation was reflected in the only one of the monitored fields, in the level of physical fitness, but not in the structure of leisure time activities. Sports-oriented school reached significantly better results p < 0,05 and Cohen d...

Kopalová, Magdaléna ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Šťastný, Petr (referee)
Title: The impact of a three-month training on motor functions in preschool hockey players Objectives: The goal of this diploma thesis is to summarize the knowledge about motor functions in preschool children. Also to find suitable test methods which should help to evaluate the motor level of children this age who are attending the preparation course in the hockey club Sparta Praha and also evaluate the influence of a three month hockey training on postural maturity and development of motor skills on the regular surface and on the ice. Methods: The pre-experiment was conducted in hockey preparation course HC Sparta Praha in preschool children during their training. It was carried out using 5 tests evaluating postural maturity, which were evaluated by two physiotherapists and 4 tests evaluating the level of motor skills on the regular surface and on the ice, which was measured on time. Tests were performed twice, with a three-month interval. Results: After three months of training, there was no substantial improvement in postural maturity assessment tests, although the consensus of the two physiotherapists in the assessment of the postural tests maturity was relatively high, for both measurements. The top rated test was tandem walk over the line. In this test, there was also the most improvement...
The influence of postural ontogenesis on morphological development of trunk
Hladíková, Veronika ; Kobesová, Alena (advisor) ; Šafářová, Marcela (referee)
This bachelor thesis engages in an influence of postural ontogenesis on formation of anatomical structures of trunk. Postural ontogenesis depends on maturation of the central nervous system, which stimulates automatic, accurately timed recruitment of muscles to posture. At the same time with postural muscle activation, morphogenesis of the skeleton is finishing. As a consequence of abnormal motor development, there are deviations in bone shape and in setting of joints. The thesis is focused on the description of a morphological development of spinal curves, thorax and abdominal wall. The development of cervical lordosis and the shape of the upper part of thorax is linked to the development of motor functions of upper limbs. The significant milestone is an ability to lift and hold head above the surface in prone position. The development of lumbar lordosis and the shape of the lower part of thorax is determined by motor functions of lower limbs, which are firstly manifested by lifting lower limbs in supine position. The development of sitting, stance and gait plays a crucial role. The development of abdominal wall is assessed by presence, or rather absence of diastasis recti abdominis, which is related to the quality of muscle coordination in this area. Practical part of the thesis devotes to...
Motor imitation as a precondition for self-care skills for children with autism spectrum disorders
Prucková, Kateřina ; Zemková, Jaroslava (advisor) ; Valešová Malecová, Barbara (referee)
The thesis deals with Autistic Spectrum Disorders in terms of their ethology and diagnostic criteria. The theoretical part further describes development of terminology of these disorders and historical concept of care of individuals with Autism. Included are also categories of disabilities and their symptoms. Another chapter discusses the specifics of self-help skills of children with Autism and characterizes motor development of preschool children with an emphasis on motor imitation, as one of the sub-kinetic abilities. The aim of the research work is to analyse the degree of influence of motor imitation on the development of self-help skills of children with Autism. It focuses on evaluation of the developmental level of the respondent's self-help skills and its development influenced by intensive imitation training. Determination of the actual developmental level allows easier orientation within self-help skills that can be practiced with the child. Their list is located in the attachments. Further research clarifies what techniques were the most successful during motor imitation training. KEYWORD Autism spectrum disorders, pervasive developmental disorder, triad of impairments, motor development, motor imitation, self-help skills.

Noack, Dana ; Šulová, Lenka (advisor) ; Mertin, Václav (referee)
Title: The Pikler Early Childhood Education Author: Dana Noack Department: Katedra psychologie, FF UK Supervisor: Prof. PhDr. Lenka Šulová, CSc. Abstract: The intention of this study was to explore how the parents who are familiar with the Piklerian principles use these in upbringing their children in the family in the period of early childhood. The theoretical part describes the process of socialization (with the emphasis on the preconditions for the early interaction both on the child's and the parent's side) as well as the topic of upbringing in the family (basic models and the relation of upbringing to the socio-cultural and the historical context) and the most important aspects of the child development in the first three years. The last chapter of the theoretical part introduces the Hungarian pediatrician Emmi Pikler, the basic pediatrist Emmi Pikler, the basic premises of her approach and it's principles related to the issue of the motor development, care and play. The empirical part presents the results of the qualitative content analysis of data gathered by a questionnaire. These data provide us with a basic picture of how the concrete parents use the Piklerian principles in upbringing their children.
